I got a letter from a Glenn Knippenberg who operates a small brewery, which is a subsidiary of MillerCoors in Golden, CO. He wrote that he will be brewing a beer named Colorado Native which would be brewed using Colorado grown products. Unfortunately Colorado is underdeveloped in hop farming. He plans on buying some hops from other commercial sources and has assembled a gang of 500 hop growing enthusiasts around the country to grow hops for him. He projects that 99% in terms of weight in the brew kettle will still be from Colorado. He plans on sending each of his enthusiasts a rhizome of the hop variety that he want to use in his beer and will produce a "Planting and Care" document on the hops. After seeing my hop trellis in the Gadget Issue in Zymurgy Magazine, he thought that my design would be beneficial for his gang to emulate. He asked me for permission to use images of my hop trellis and some of the copy from the article to produce the document on building the trellis for his hop gang.
I gave him permission as long as he gives me credit and posts my website link. I also asked him to send me a hop rhizome to plant along with the document he produces, so I can see what he's done with the image and copy. I also asked for some beer but I fear that might be more of a problem. No harm... no foul!
That's great news Steve...get that attribution! ;-)
